Sharing Wisdom

When an important light goes out in your life, you can share in the process of relighting a significant part of it. The “Relighting Us” website is a jointly shared vehicle for doing just that. “Relighting Us” is a sharing of experience and wisdom. It is designed to benefit all who participate.

Celebrating the Birth of Christ and the Festival of Lights at approximately the same time each year, in my mind, is not a coincidence. It fits neatly under the category of Divine Mercy. Those celebrations occur at the darkest time of the year. They both deal with light.

logo-3Divine light is shared by all of us as we navigate our individual ways. Without it we fall into pits, bump into walls, go in wrong directions. You get the idea. Happily for us, light not only illuminates directional paths, but it can be recreated or extended when needed. With it we can illuminate darkened places. We can see better, and know where to go, and what to avoid. That light is basically what we call wisdom. It is the same light that came to us from the Word made flesh, and symbolized by the long lasting oil lamp. It is a Gift of a Loving God. He wants us to have a successful journey, but one which we navigated by ourselves.

To recreate or extend this light is a shared enterprise. Everyone has a part to play in the task. The result is that everyone benefits. We share. The light shines. We see. We live. We seek and find joy, Together.

Laughter is the language of joy. It is a shared phenomenon. It gets us over the rough spots. It reveals needed light. It can be found in everything we do. To find it we need to recognize and be open to it. Sharing joyful stories is one way to get at that recognition process. We learn best from each other. We do not live alone. We live and exist together. We are not all about “me”. We are all about “us”. Laughter is a powerful medicine that God provides. It is of His design to help us through the trials and losses we all encounter in our lives. We need all the help we can get.

There is joy in sharing wisdom. In “Relighting Us” that joy can be recreated and shared. We all benefit.

Every contribution you can make will add another bulb to our strings of relighted lights.
