A Conversation with Jean – March 25, 2018

“Here I am again. Not quite so long this time.”

“So, what’s been going on?”

“Some pretty interesting stuff. The kind that could break out into some good happenings if all goes right. Let me try to explain after I give you a summary of what has happened since February 28th.

First off, John Looney from the band called me and invited me to have lunch with him and Glenn Koch, another member. We met at the Liberty Diner on N. Winton Rd. and spent almost two hours reminiscing. They wanted to know what I was doing and, even though they didn’t say it, why I left the band.

I told them basically the same thing I told you in our last conversation. About where I’m heading with Relighting Us, and how it was becoming a full-time effort. What I forgot to tell you last time was that it was also being influenced by another book Kathryn gave me, titled: Resisting Happiness.

It came to my mind that the Inner Preacher title for my evolving guide book was not quite the way I wanted to present it and that I should better use Relighting Us as a title, as that was the
overall message in it anyway. Glenn was very interested in the Relighting Us idea, and gave to him some of the materials I had made up for its implementation. He, also, asked me to email him a couple of the stories I had posted to Relighting Us.

The upshot of all this was that after I got home, I thought what a great idea to combine the premises in the two books Kathryn gave me and offer Relighting Us to restore happiness. Restore what had been overlooked in our pasts, much as we are doing in our spiritual conversations here. Give that some thought and send it me in whatever manner you can effectively empower.

I am going to run with it. I plan on annualizing my Easter Rising Centennial luncheons for all my writing companions and all those involved with the freedom we enjoy. Freedom to live in the spirit, as unencumbered with burdens as we can possibly make it. Both being of Irish descent we have an inherited bond with the evolving freedom of Ireland, and to me it is a great metaphor for the possibilities in much wider areas.

Sadly, here, we are witnessing a devolution of freedoms in the name of rights. There is, however, encouragement emerging from those with the least amount of power coming together and letting the powerful know how they feel about their rights to live. I will try to keep you posted on how we as a nation go about staying free and protecting our families.

It my hope that relighting Us can help in that regard. Nest time, I will fill you in on Easter in the family as well.”
